Introduction
Hello and welcome to PEP. The Papua Education Program (PEP), incorporated in 2004, is a Christian organization devoted to spreading the love of God by supporting Papuans in their educational pursuits. PEP is an umbrella organization, which is committed to supporting educational programs and projects in Papua. The PEP Board is committed to meeting not only the physical needs of students, but the spiritual needs as well. Papuans are at a great disadvantage in their own land as they are not able to compete for jobs because they do not meet even minimal educational or training requirements. PEP seeks to rectify this.
Vision
Our vision is to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ not only in word, but also in deed. We believe that by meeting the physical needs of Papuans while they are in pursuit of an education we can demonstrate God's love to them as they seek to improve their lives and the lives of others in their villages.
Mission and Goals
The purpose of the Papuan Education Program is to raise money in order to improve the lives of Papuans by providing the financial means for students to attend government and private educational institutions. In addition we also hope to provide opportunities for Papuans to participate in informal education programs such as health education, HIV awareness, community development, mother/child health and Bible schools. Money raised will be used to support Papuan students by providing programs, support staff, tuition, room, board, books, local transportation, educational supplies, and uniforms or suitable clothing and footwear as needed.
Our goal is to improve the lives of Papuans so that they can be competitive in the modern world, gainfully employed, productive, successful, prosperous, and leaders in their own land. We believe that the best way to develop Papua and improve the lives of Papuans is to provide them with educational opportunities.
